Our Scents of Life Essential Oils
are the loveliest pure essential oils to be found anywhere on the
planet, most especially at this level of affordability.
We carefully double-check for purity and scrutinized our sources,
demanding at the same time a scent be beautiful.
That combination is harder to come by than one might think.
Our blends have been created by
Glenda through her years of experience with the alchemy of anointing
oils, her refined artistic sensitivity, and a very high spiritual
attunement to the states of bliss and well being we all seek. In
addition to that she has studied with some of the finest aroma
therapists in the world.
The Scents of Life product line has both pure single plant essentials,
and artisan created blends that have been designed to enhance the
quality of your physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.
Our Artisan Blends
Have you ever wanted to walk into a room and whisper you are loved
without uttering a word?
With our blend of "Love" you can literally radiate the presence of love.
It will be recognized on a subtle level by everyone, even those who are
afraid to believe or trust in love.
The top notes of this fragrance are rose and Jasmine, with citrus
middle notes, and the depth and richness of myrrh as a lingering
fragrance. Although it has
floral top notes, it is not exclusively feminine. "Love" has enough
depth and cleanness for a man to wear as well. But most especially, fill
your home and special moments with "Love".
Available in 1/3 oz and 1/6 oz.
This is a very delicate floral that you will recognize the moment you
open the bottle. It is almost identical to the beautiful Oriental
Lilly that you see and smell so delightfully at Easter. This
exotic lily has a bit of citrus top note and a touch of spice in the
middle notes. This is a very skillful blend that starts with Ylang
Ylang and then builds with multi-layered spicy and citrus overtones
until it is almost exactly like the rare lily of Easter.
By itself, Ylang Ylang can be very direct and strong.
This blend, however, it is so light and complex you will enjoy
wearing it all day. Anyone would enjoy it in the room as an aroma
to lift the spirits. It is full of joy, love, and loveliness.
Simply precious!
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.
Magdalene’s blessing is one of the most beautiful, rich, and evocative
blends of essential oil that we offer. It was created under higher
guidance, as always. Mary Magdalene is famous in the Bible for anointing
Jeshua's feet with Spikenard. But if you have ever smelled Spikenard,
you might wonder where the blessing was. It typically has a very pungent
almost offensive odor. Two
thousand years ago it was not a distilled fragrance, but an infusion of
flowers in oil. That made all the difference.
It took years of searching for the right botanical source and
then a stroke of inspiration for the right alchemical blend.
Its inspirational value seems to lie in the inoculation against
fear. As the antithesis of love, fear is at the base of all our lower
states of being and health. There is a sublime quality to this beautiful
fragrance that lifts us to heights where only love commands.
Available in 1/3 oz and 1/6 oz.
Clarity is one of the most beautiful combinations of richness and
freshness you may ever inhale. It enlivens all the senses,
especially those of the heart. Clarity is a blend of Christ Scent
and Wisdom, plus an extra special ingredient to nurture the body.
Clarity is its own unique fragrance. However, since it is composed
of two Sacred Touch blends, it will work beautifully with any of your
Temple anointing oils. I find that it helps me to clarify my
intentions and feelings.
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.

You've heard of "breathtaking" well, this is breath-giving!
You just can't breathe enough in! And when you step outside and
experience the alchemy of this fragrance with the open air, you want to
sing like a bird. It's like the freshest air you can imagine in the
richest natural environment you could visit. There would be no better
way to prepare yourself: body, mind, and soul, for the annual renewal of
life than to celebrate with the finest elixir nature can provide.
Simply wonderful, fresh, and lasting.
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz
Heart’s Desire is a blend of precious essential oils that offer several
levels of inspiration and enjoyment.
There is the clean citrus top note that motivates us to be clear
about what we really want and to make the fresh starts necessary to
bring in new energy. The
deeper base notes suggest a rich fall harvest and great thanksgiving for
all the blessings that have already been given and await our future
discovery. Woven through
these fragrant dimensions is the richness of sweet Myrrh, which reminds
us that all true desire is “of God” and begins in the temple of our
Hearts.
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz
This is a serene, vibrant, alpine fragrance, a bit woodsy, very fresh,
and with a hint of wild flowers.
It was created to help you leave the world below as you ascend
into higher states of prayer and meditation.
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.
This wonderful refreshing blend provides a relaxing retreat for body,
heart, and soul. It is a
light, minty blend of those essential oils most known for reducing
stress and physical discomfort. It consists primarily of fine
French lavender, a variety of mints, with a sizable portion of rose for
the heart and soul. In today’s climate of anxiety, stress, and
overwork this blend provides a wonderful retreat from the cares of the
world and a revitalizing sanctuary of relaxing aromas. I use it
after bath, before bed, and during work. What really works well is
to place a drop or two in my hands, add some lotion to that, and then
rub my feet, hands, or aching joints and muscles.
It is great in a room diffuser to turn your space into a
sanctuary.
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.
This is a potent blend dating back to the middle ages. According
to legend, four thieves in 15th century England used this blend to
protect themselves while robbing plague victims. This is a recipe
of the finest Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary.
Essential oils only, no carriers. I have had extraordinary success
using this blend on insect bites and minor scrapes or cuts for which I
would normally use antibiotic cream. I have also used it to create
a homemade inhaler for use on commercial airlines where viruses could be
spread like the plague. Your intuition, or your health care
professional, may have many creative ideas about how to further use it.
It has a delightful spicy aroma and comes straight from nature’s
apothecary.
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.
This is an awesome therapeutic blend that was used by aroma therapists
and CERtified Massage Therapists on the rescue workers during the 9/11
crisis in New York City. This blend contains the finest variety of each
type of oil including Wild Crafted lavender, Organic Rosemary, Organic
Eucalyptus, Organic Fir, Organic Naiouli, Organic Tea Tree and
Peppermint Super. This blend was originally developed to go into massage
oil, and you may use it in that way. However, you may use this
blend in a variety of applications since what you will receive is only
100% pure essential oil in the CERMT blend. It is from one of the finest
distilleries I know, far above commercial grade.
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.
"Serenity" is the recipe for greater repose. It has the refreshing and
inviting fragrance of an herbal garden, like fresh breezes after a rain.
It’s the perfect fragrance for moving into rest, sleep, or therapeutic
massage. Try making a spritz using the recipe in "Anointed with Oil,"
then gently spray it on your pillow for super sweet dreams in the arms
of Mother Nature!
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.
Rose is considered the ultimate 'heart opening' oil, and its tonic
action on the heart appears to help relieve cardiac congestion, improve
sluggish circulation, and tone the capillaries.
Rose also offers a soothing property to the nerves, as well as emotional
and psychological state of mind.
It helps us to seek love and recover from disappointments in love.
Rose is also considered the premier oil for treating conditions of the
reproductive system for both women and men.
Rose has one of the highest ORAC values and electromagnetic frequencies
of any essential oil. The
problem with what you find in most retail supply is that it is either
synthetic, or if real it may be very low grade or very diluted with
carrier oils. The reason: a
pound of rose oil sells at the distiller price for $4,000.
Just do the math.
This is why we honestly declare ours to be a blend.
Our Rose, however, is not blended with seed, nut, or vegetable
oils, which block the energy and absorption of essential oils and become
rancid. Our rose is blended
with a very rare fragrance-free pure essential oil balsam that is
actually one of the most valued essential oils for healing among
rainforest people. We buy
this directly from the indigenous people who make a sustainable economy
from it. It takes on the
fragrance of Rose as if the two were married.
Truly elegant, simply exquisite.

Neroli essential oil is the pure fragrance of Orange blossoms.
Meditators and mystics through the ages claim it opens the Crown
Chakra. In all
situations, it helps us to express our joy in life and connect with a
higher guidance. To
appreciate its rarity, just consider that it takes 1,000 pounds of
blossoms to make 1 pound of oil.
Neroli oil has been traditionally used to uplift the spirit,
relieve depression, and recover from shock by imparting a sense of
peace. It can also help with
anxiety, convalescence, fatigue, insomnia, nervous exhaustion, nervous
skin rashes, palpitations, poor circulation, and all aging conditions of
the skin.
Neroli, like Rose, has one of the highest electromagnetic frequencies of
any essential oil, and it is one of the most beautiful of all the oils.
However, what you find in most retail supply is either synthetic
and artificial smelling, or, if real, it has been degraded with carrier
oils. Neroli is very fragile
and does not survive bad blends.
Like Rose, it is very expensive, currently selling at the
distributor level for $2,200 a pound. Just do the math.
This is why we honestly declare ours to be a blend.
Our Neroli, however, is not blended with seed, nut, or vegetable
oils, which block the energy and absorption of essential oils and become
rancid (as well as ruining its fragrance).
Our Neroli is blended with a very rare fragrance-free pure
essential oil balsam that is actually one of the most valued essential
oils for healing among rainforest people.
We buy this directly from the indigenous people who make a
sustainable economy from it.
It takes on the fragrance of Neroli as if the two were married.
Absolutely gorgeous.
You may never stop smelling your hand!
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.
Pure Botanical Essences We take pride in offering you the best experience you can have with essential oil. In order for that to happen, an essential oil has to be pure and it has to be a joy to inhale. We are sorry to say that most of what is found on the store shelves is neither pure nor beautiful, or at the very least possessing only one quality and not the other. However, I personally know and trust all of our distillers, and we only work with those who provide accountability. None of our blends contain carrier oils, perfume oils, or any synthetic content.
They are beautiful because of the careful selection of sources and
blends.
Aside from the obvious reasons of honesty in labeling, it is
important that essential oils not be diluted with carrier oils, for
those oils are not antimicrobial and can become rancid.
It is important that no synthetic perfume oils be used because of
possible toxicity. It is fine, at the consumer’s end that essential oil
be added to some form of lotion, massage oil, soap, or alcohol for
spritzes. You will find many great recipes in
“Anointed With Oil.”
However, this should be YOUR choice, and you need to know that
the very long-term shelf life of pure essential oil will be shortened to
that of the substances into which it is introduced.
The selections we offer are only a few out of hundreds that are
available from worldwide sources.
However, the ones we offer are the most desirable oils that meet
all of our criteria for purity and beauty, and also fall in a price
range that will not break the budget.
Actually we work very hard to provide oils that are a bargain at
an exceptional quality, beauty, and price point. As we find more that
match all of our criteria, we will add them to the line.
We hope you will enjoy each one of them and be blessed in health
and happiness as they touch your life.
Our Clove Bud oil from Madagascar is warm, sweet, peppery and
candy-like. Many fragrance
professionals regard Madagascar's clove as the best variety.
It has an appetizing scent similar to the common household spice.
However, far beyond its fragrant appeal, this is an amazing topical
antibiotic in a form much purer than any available in stores. Modern scientific research has shown that there are several reasons why essential oils can improve our health. We are all familiar with the importance of having enough antioxidants to fight the harmful free-radicals that damage our cells and slowly cause us to age and develop chronic degenerative diseases. Scientists at tufts University have developed a scale for the US Dept of Agriculture called the ORAC Scale: Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity. The higher the score the more capable any food or topical substance is of destroying free radicals. The free-radical fighting ability of antioxidants is measured in ORAC units. Broccoli and spinach have ORAC values of 890 and 1,260 respectively. The berry group (blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, and others) has ORAC scores of between 1,200 and 2,400 (highest in blueberry). However, he best fruits do not come close to the ORAC power of essential oils. The weakest of essential oils (sandalwood) has an ORAC value above 2,000. And, amazingly, clove bud essential oil has ORAC power of over 1 million! With that kind of capacity to knock out harmful free-radicals, we should not be surprised at the healing properties of this essential oil.

Organic French High
Mountain Lavender
The scent is fresh and sweet, floral, natural and winsome. Unlike some
floral extracts, French Lavender is not the least bit overpowering.
It is gentle and uplifting, with a decidedly floral beauty.
Chemically the European lavenders are quite different from English
Lavender, which has higher linalool content, and that makes them a bit
more pungent. French
Lavender has a higher ester content than lavenders cultivated at lower
altitudes. For Lavender high altitudes are preferable. The distillations
carried out at higher altitudes also tend to produce improved oils, due
to lower distillation temperatures. This one is pure and organic to
start with. If you love
lavender, it will be your all time favorite.
Rarely available in stores anywhere. Lavender oil is known for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, diuretic and sedative properties. It is used to treat skin problems like acne, psoriasis and eczema. It is used to topically treat burns, sunburns, wounds, sores and insect bites. Lavender oil is also helpful in curing bronchitis, sinusitis, flu, colds and throat infections. As it is calming and relaxing, it helps induce sleep and can help in the treatment of insomnia.

The absolute best, sweetest, most candy-like peppermint oil you will
ever smell! With its
natural mint flavor and scent, Peppermint is useful in a number of
personal body care recipes and around-the-house mixes.
Peppermint's powerful scent can change the environment and air
quality very quickly thus acting as an air deodorizer. Peppermint also
has an amazing ability to increase alertness to aid with concentration.
In small doses, Peppermint has a cooling, soothing effect, and when
combined with lavender it can be useful in treating sunburns. As an
astringent, Peppermint is good for bacterial or viral infections of the
mouth, as well as a variety of digestion issues, nausea and diarrhea. Beneficial in treating osteoarthritis, cramps, muscular relaxation & sprains, and lower back pain, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties. It aids with digestion, especially helpful in treating irritable bowel syndrome. Peppermint is an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and an expectorant that is especially helpful during coughing attacks. It can also relieve itching from allergies and is frequently used as an insect repellent. My favorite use for Peppermint: Add 15 drops of Peppermint oil to 8 ounces of pure water and use for a mouthwash. (Your mouth will feel tingly.) To end nausea on the spot, inhale some Peppermint! Oh, and for gas... put one drop of Peppermint oil on a sugar cube and let it dissolve in your mouth.

Our Bergamot oil, from the Ivory Coast, is sweet and characteristically
citrus but warm and with uniquely floral nuances. Bergamot
is a fruit the size of an orange, with a yellow color similar to a
lemon, and has a pleasant fragrance. Citrus bergamot is native to Asia
and is commercially grown in
Calabria (Italy),
in France, and the
finest specimens come from the
Ivory Coast. Bergamot
grows on small trees which
blossom during the winter. The distinctive aroma of the bergamot
is most commonly known for its use in
Earl Grey tea, though
the juice of the fruit has also been used in Calabrian
indigenous medicine as
an herbal remedy for
malaria and its
essential oil is popular
in all kinds of aromatherapy
applications. Like all
citrus oils, it can cause photosensitivity to ultraviolet light.
Therefore it is not recommended before being in the sun directly
or for long periods of time.
It
refreshes and balances the emotions and is especially useful in times of
anxiety and when dealing with depression. Good for bacterial or viral
infections of the mouth, including nasal mucus.
Bergamot is useful in stimulating poor circulation, while
relaxing and calming the nervous system. Bergamot has anti-inflammatory
and slightly diuretic properties, which also makes it useful in treating
varicose veins. It helps
relieve the pain, itch and swelling from insect bites and stings, while
repelling insects as well.
A powerful antiseptic, Bergamot is useful in the first aid treatment of
minor cuts and wounds. It also helps prevent scar tissue. A great use for Bergamot: Add equal amounts of Bergamot oil and Lavender oil to some unscented vitamin E cream for the best dry skin hand lotion ever!

This most lovely and sacred cedar of all is from the high country of
Nepal. This is the cedar
oil used for temple incense by Tibetan Buddhists. It is rich, sweet,
woody and almost balsamic.
It has a gentle and complex aroma that works well in blends without
overpowering the other fragrances to which it is added.
As a single scent it is also gentle, subtle, and very high
energy. Cedar is recognized for its calming, purifying effects, and its benefits to the skin and underlying tissue. Possibly related to its use as a spiritually grounding scent, the oil may stimulate the pineal gland which releases melatonin as well as human growth hormone. The limbic system (center of emotions) is also stimulated by the high sesquiterpene content. Cedar oil is considered fortifying and strengthening, being noted as a tonifier of the kidneys, spleen and pancreas. It is included in blends to enhance one's overall energy and to support adrenal function.

Eucalyptus essential oil has a balancing and stimulating effect.
Ours is wild harvested from the leaves of the Australian Native
Eucalyptus tree.
Its aroma is a mix of camphor and the forest.
Eucalyptus oil has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and
antiviral properties. It is popularly used to treat lung disorders like
asthma and bronchitis. Eucalyptus oil is often used to treat flu as a
decongestant and it great for headaches and sinus problems when inhaled
or massaged with base oil into the scalp. It is also used to relieve
muscle and rheumatic pains by massaging it into the skin.
Eucalyptus is
mentally invigorating and stimulating.
It increases alertness and gives one a greater ability to
concentrate. It is great
for relieving driving stress and encourages alertness in the car.
In addition to that, eucalyptus has a powerful scent that can
change the environment and air quality very quickly. It's a great odor
remover.
Some aroma therapists say Eucalyptus is valuable for treating Urinary Tract infections and recommend a few drops in a bath. I especially like its ability to open up the nasal passages and invigorate the senses. Put some boiling hot water in a bowl, add a few drops of Eucalyptus, put a towel over your head and the bowl, and inhale the steam to clear out your sinuses. Or just put a few drops on a warm wet wash cloth and hold to your nose.

Grapefruit is known as a happy oil due to its uplifting qualities, which
also contribute to concentration and self-confidence. Ours is
a red deliciously fragrant grapefruit that is absolutely the best
Grapefruit essential oil we've ever come across, by far.
Grapefruit is used in aromatherapy spa treatments to improve lymphatic
drainage and to ease muscle stiffness, by dispersing lactic acids.
Grapefruit essential oil is anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory,
anti-septic, detoxifying, anti-depressant, immune boosting, skin-toning
and mentally rejuvenating.
In aromatherapy applications, grapefruit is refreshing,
cheering, slightly euphoria-inducing and energizing.
Grapefruit's sweet and familiar aroma can evoke warm feelings that melt
sour dispositions. Grapefruit essential oil is a "releasing" oil -- so
personalities that tend to harbor resentment or keep emotions bottled up
can benefit from inhaling this oil.
Like many of the citrus oils, it has a unique 'fat dissolving' characteristic. This is the essential oil most noted for use in reducing cellulite, (it can be used by itself, or in a carrier and massaged into those areas) and can be included in massage blends for this application. It has been shown in laboratory studies to increase the metabolism of adipose tissue (fat cells, and specifically 'brown' fat cells.) It is also very useful for cleansing oily skin and helping with acne due to its astringent nature, therefore it is great for rejuvenating the complexion. *

Means "flower of flowers" and its beauty is legendary.
The flowers were once spread on the beds of newlyweds.
Now you can enjoy it in this precious essential oil that comes
from the flowers of the Cananga tree.
It is most commonly used for body perfume and fragrance for the room. However, it also has serious therapeutic contributions to offer. This beautiful oil has been used to treat depression, high blood pressure, insomnia, impotence, insect bites, frigidity, dry skin and hair loss. Ylang Ylang helps to sedate the nerves while stimulating the circulatory system. Its sedative qualities are helpful with relaxation, relieving anxiety, palpitations, and tearfulness. It is most helpful in times of anger, aggression, irritability, nervous tension because it stimulates the production of endorphins (the body's natural pain killers). This makes it an excellent oil in times of stress induced pain. For the same reason it also helps to counteract the effects of hair loss, which is often related to overproduction of stress induced hormones.

For an evening of relaxation try combining three drops of Ylang Ylang
and a drop each of Clary Sage and Bergamot into a tub of very warm bath
water.
Available in 1/3 oz. and 1/6 oz.
Our Clary Sage is distilled from only the flowers, unlike most which
come from both leaves and flowers.
This rare version has a fresh and delicate top-note which
progresses into a rich sweet-herbaceous body-note of long duration.
Its dry-out notes are balsamic-amber-like, reminiscent of sweet
hay and tea-leaves, with unusual tenacity. Clary Sage soothes and warms while uplifting the spirit. It is purported to be a nerve tonic and remedy for depression, tension, aging skin and PMS. It can help to regulate and balance your emotions, and it's often used to clear the mind, de-stress, and treat insomnia thanks to its relaxing and soothing characteristics. Clary Sage is useful in lifting depression and de-stressing. Clary Sage is a natural antiseptic, antibacterial, astringent, and deodorant. It can ease night sweats due to menopause and encourage peaceful sleep.

This essential oil is comforting and healing with a sweet, floral and
earthy aroma. There are over seven hundred varieties of geranium.
All of them are very direct in their aromatic impact.
However, I feel that
Rose geranium, which is a bit rosier and more complex, has more subtlety
and softness to offer the senses.
All geranium oil has a balancing effect on the nervous system and
relieves depression and anxiety, while lifting the spirits and making
the world an easier place to live in. It has a balancing effect on the
adrenal cortex and is great for relieving stress.
Its haemostatic nature helps the body systems to balance themselves, and
since the adrenal cortex is stimulated and balanced, the hormonal system
of the body is also corrected and aligned. On the lymphatic system
it has a greatly stimulating effect and with that helps with detoxifying
the body and also affects female health in treating PMS. It has a general diuretic effect on the body and balances the water systems in the body, correcting any poor elimination of water and waste material. It is useful for treating jaundice, gall stones and can also be used for restraining nose bleeds and other hemorrhaging.

USDA researchers at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, have developed a new laboratory test to measure the oxygen radical absorption capacity of different foods and natural substances. Known as the ORAC scale, it is one of the most sensitive and reliable methods for measuring antioxidant capacity for any food or substance. We list this wherever the score is known. Most of them are amazingly high, and even the lowest is higher than blueberries, a high anti-oxidant food source. Please keep in mind, however, that this is only one of the important values of an essential oil.
